Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name. 1 Chronicles 29:13
It has been a busy couple of weeks. Sydney's last day of kindergarten was last Thursday. She actually didn't get to go because she started throwing up at 2:00 in the morning. That lasted until 4:30 in the afternoon. I was supposed to be getting ready for my brief trip to FL for Kendall's bridal shower (which went great, by the way), but obviously that didn't happen until after the kids went to bed. Then I got up at 4:00 in the morning to leave for the airport on Friday. Everything went smoothly. I had a layover in Chicago. My flight left on time, but arrived in Tampa about 15 minutes late due to the wind. It took a while for my mom and I to find each other at the airport, but it all worked out.
When I called Brian to see how everyone was, things seemed fine. Unfortunately, that didn't last. Friday at midnight Avery started throwing up and didn't eat anything all day Saturday. Every time I asked Brian if he was sick, he'd say he was "fine". Well, Sydney ratted him out over the phone. She said, "Daddy threw up!" Then when I told him I knew he was sick, he kept saying, "I'm fine," or acting like he couldn't hear me..."The phone is breaking up. What did you say?" I had already cried about Avery being sick while I was away, and he didn't want to make me feel worse.
Yesterday after church and lunch, I flew home with a layover in Atlanta. The 60-something couple sitting next to me on my first flight was seriously getting on my nerves. They would not stop making out! The wife was massaging her husband's bare feet and he was rubbing her VERY upper (and inner) thigh the entire time and doing a lot of mushy kissing noises...YUCK! I mean, I'm glad they love each other, I just wish they'd love each other a little bit more discreetly! They were talking the whole time too, and not things I wanted to hear. It got worse as the flight went on since they each had an alcoholic beverage along the way. Needless to say, I was glad when that flight landed.
When I got home, I was surprised by Brian and the girls. He had let them stay up to see me. They had made me some adorable pictures, and he had gotten me some red roses. It was so great!
This morning we woke up to a serious thunderstorm. It almost sounded like there was hail. The kids all slept pretty late, though, so that was nice. Bonnie, our dog, gets really nervous about thunder, so she would not leave my side...even accompanying me to bathroom. What a silly! The kids have played semi-nicely all morning. It would have been nice to play outside today, but obviously not in this weather. Hopefully it will hold out for us tomorrow and Wednesday since we're supposed to go to the park tomorrow with our playgroup and then to the Botanical Gardens on Wednesday with another playgroup. Meanwhile, I'm just going to enjoy my crazy children at home!
